FAQ
A FEW THINGS BEFORE OPENING NIGHT.
What exactly do I get?
The Poster package delivers a high-resolution digital poster, print-ready up to 24x36, plus character images. The Premiere and Crew packages add a 25 to 45 second 1080p trailer in 16:9 plus a vertical cut for phones. All files are watermark-free downloads, yours to keep and share.
What if I don't love the first cut?
One revision round is included in every package. Tell us exactly what to change and we’ll recut it. You can receive a full refund any time before production starts.
How do I send my photos?
After checkout, you’ll be taken to a private intake page for your order. There you add your cast, share your creative direction, and upload the photos we use to make your movie.
Can I order through Etsy instead?
Yes. The Poster and Premiere packages are available in our Etsy shop with Etsy buyer protection; you’ll find both links in Pricing.
What photos should I upload?
Clear, well-lit photos where each person’s face is visible work best. Multiple angles are helpful.
Do I need professional photos?
No. Normal smartphone photos are usually perfect.
How many people can be included?
This depends on the package. Larger casts can be accommodated through Crew or Custom packages.
Can you include pets?
Absolutely.
Can I choose the movie style?
Yes. You’ll choose a genre/style and can provide additional creative direction during intake.
Will the finished images look exactly like us?
Recastory creates artistic cinematic interpretations using your photos. Exact likeness may vary depending on image quality and the selected concept.
Can you make something completely custom?
Yes. Use the Business / Custom option and tell us the idea.
Will you post my photos?
Not without permission.
How long does it take?
Poster: 3 days. Premiere: 5 days. Crew: 7 days. The clock starts when your photos arrive. Rush is available — tell us your date at intake.
Can you make us a cartoon?
Yes. Choose the Animated finish and one of our three house styles. Same price as cinematic.
Can I buy it as a gift?
Yes. Upload the photos yourself and keep it a surprise, or we'll email the recipient the upload link.
What if my photos aren't good enough?
We'll email you within 24 hours of receiving them and say exactly what to reshoot. Delivery restarts from the new upload.
Is this AI?
We use AI tools the way a studio uses cameras and editing software. Every order is directed, reviewed, and finished by a person before it reaches you.
